Junior AV Operator — CX Network


We are looking for a motivated individual with a desire to learn and deepen their knowledge of the industry. This role would suit a recent graduate or young person wishing to broaden their previous audiovisual technical training and gain real-world experience.

About Us:

The Australian Dental Association NSW (ADA NSW) is one of the leading training providers for dental professionals in Australia and operates a purpose-built training center at St Leonards. We are expanding our digital production operations and are looking to hire a full-time junior AV operator.

About you:

Have you ever worked with audio visual equipment in your school, church, scouts or local theatre? You are technically savvy and have the type of mind that easily understands how systems work. You have a mature and responsible personality, are ready to be part of a team and are happy to participate and help all departments as needed.

The role:


Working with the Group Audio Visual and Digital Production Manager, you will help provide the highest level of AV operation and support for our training events including lectures, clinical training, procedures live with patients, hybrid events, online webinars, etc.

Along with the operation of AV equipment, you will assist with room set-up, maintenance and upkeep of equipment and systems to ensure trouble-free operation.

You will receive everything you need to develop your skills. You will be trained in the setup and operation of in-house AV systems and will support the events team for large-scale conventions held throughout the state. We offer opportunities for growth and expansion in areas such as camera operation, audio and video editing, live streaming or audio post-production – we do it all and you will be part of our productions department digital.

Job requirements include:

  • Mature, reliable and responsible individual with a hands-on work ethic and a desire to achieve the best results possible.
  • Positive attitude and ability and willingness to adapt to a changing position with the ability to be flexible and work in a team.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Previous experience with AV equipment, audio, lighting, cameras, etc.
  • Excellent knowledge of the operation and configuration of all types of computers.
  • Good knowledge of the operation and optimization of presentation software (MS PowerPoint and Keynote).
  • Good knowledge of common video conferencing applications.
  • Experience in effectively explaining technical situations to non-technical people.
  • Ability and willingness to work outside normal business hours and on weekends as required.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills assured.
  • Clean and neat appearance.
  • Desire to learn and develop your career.

Preferred but not required:

  • Knowledge of dental or medical terminology.
  • Experience as a cameraman.
  • Experience as a photographer.
  • Experience with camera lighting.
  • Experience with multi-channel audio recording for camera.
  • Experience with Adobe suite of programs.
  • Experience with video editing NLEs (we use DaVinci Resolve).
  • Experience in audio post-production.
