The position

The primary objective of the Systems Engineering Technician is to assist in the diagnosis and repair of Technology Services equipment and to return equipment to service as quickly as possible.

You will be responsible for:


  • Monitor 100% compliance of all MCEC technology electrical equipment to the relevant Australian standard.
  • Advise on the appropriate tools and equipment needed to maintain this standard.
  • Ensure that all new acquisitions are tested and labeled in accordance with the relevant standard
  • Entry of new acquisitions into the database and establishment of recertification schedules.
  • Under the direction of System Engineers, performs repairs to out-of-service equipment and routine maintenance of technology equipment. Diagnose and triage repairs to identify equipment to send offsite for repair. To perform cable fabrication and equipment construction as required
  • Maintain all appropriate MCEC processes and documentation for out-of-service and return-to-service reporting


  • An Elevated Work Platform (EWP) ticket and Initiation to Construction certification (Carte Blanche) areobligatoryrequirements of this role
  • Test and label certification as defined by Australian Standard AS/NZS 3760:2010.
  • Have a strong focus on customer service, excellent team skills, ability to communicate clearly
  • Have the availability to work for our operational needs. This includes day, evening, night and weekend shifts
  • Have experience managing and troubleshooting enterprise-level AV control systems, with a particular focus on AMX and BSS
  • Electrical/Electronic Repair Qualification
  • Experience delivering technical or electrical service events
