Rep. Deutch Introduces Bill to Protect Social Security Benefits – InsuranceNewsNet


WASHINGTON, July 23 — Rep. Ted DeutschD-Floridaintroduced legislation (HR 8467) to “amend Title II of the Social Security Act and the Revenue Code of 1986 to make improvements to the Old Age, Survivors’ and Disability Insurance Scheme, and to provide Social Security protection of benefits.”

The bill was introduced on July 21 and was co-sponsored by Reps. John SarbanesD-Maryland, Steve CohenD-Tennesseeand Chellie PingreeD-Maine. It was jointly referred to the House of Ways and Means; Energy and Trade; and education and labor committees.
