A new Cyberpunk 2077 mod puts drivable trains in Night City.
As first reported by Destructoid, the new mod from NexusMods delivers a working public transit system for Cyberpunk 2077. Once installed, you can wait for a train to arrive at any of the stations around Night City and hop on onboard, with text at the bottom of the screen indicating where you’re heading next.
Yes, Cyberpunk 2077 already has a fast travel system, but not one that’s intertwined with Night City itself like this. The standard fast travel system just lets you teleport from point A to point B, while this mod lets you take in the views of Night City as the train travels the monorail above the city, and you can even switch seats while you’re there.
This is without a doubt one of the most impressive mods we’ve seen from the Cyberpunk 2077 community, since the game launched from CD Projekt Red just over a year ago. Another notable community creation added an in-game wall after the developer cut the original feature, while another mod just let you fuck Keanu Reeves a lot.
Perhaps we could see the community implement police chases in Cyberpunk 2077 next. The game director explained in a recent interview that the police chases were halted due to time and technical constraints, and now the police just appear out of nowhere in the final game. It’s a feature that hasn’t always gone down very well with Cyberpunk 2077 players, but for the modding community, it’s a massive and understandable request.
