Mansukh Mandaviya Launches Song and Audiovisual Film to Celebrate India’s 100 COVID Vaccines

New Delhi [India], October 21 (ANI): Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Thursday launched a song and audiovisual film to celebrate India’s milestone in reaching the 100 crore vaccination mark against COVID-19.

Speaking on the occasion, Mandaviya said, “India made history by crossing the historic 100 crore vaccination mark. The 100 crore vaccination is a feeling of confidence among compatriots. The 100 crore vaccination is Diwali of autonomous India. ” The event was held at Fort Rouge. Union Minister of State for Health Bharti Pravin Pawar was also present on the occasion.

Mandaviya tweeted the song “Teeke se bacha hai desh” sung by famous award-winning singer Padma Shri Kailash Kher to promote the vaccination campaign across the country.

In a historic achievement, India’s cumulative COVID-19 vaccine coverage surpassed 100 crore in doses on Thursday. A total of 100 crore vaccine doses have so far been administered to eligible beneficiaries, according to the CoWIN portal at 9.47am today.

India’s COVID-19 vaccination campaign was launched on January 16, 2021.

Initially, vaccination was restricted to healthcare workers (HCWs).

From February 2, frontline workers were made eligible for vaccination. These included state and central police personnel, armed forces personnel, border guards, civil defense volunteers for disaster management, municipal employees, prison staff, PRI staff. and tax officials involved in containment and surveillance, the railroad protection force, and election officials.

The vaccination campaign was extended from March 1 to include people over 60 and over 45 with 20 associated specified comorbidities. It was extended to all people over 45 from April 1. As of May 1, all people over the age of 18 have been eligible for the COVID-19 vaccination. (ANI)
